I highlight my mom's hair sometimes, but haven't attempted my own. I use the kits from the drug store. I just want some subtle highlights for the summer and I do not want to pay $70. Have you highlighted your own hair? Is it a bad idea? I don't know anyone to do it for me that I trust. Is it a bad idea to highlight your hair yourself?
If you can do your mom's, then you can do yours. It's really not hard, it is easier if you have someone help you though. Is it a bad idea to highlight your hair yourself?
If your hair is already on the lighter side, you can use the kits that have the little brush for the streaks that you want. If it is darker I would get it professionally done because it will turn orange and you won't achieve the outcome you want because to get it real light they need to use heat. Otherwise if your hair is lighter the kits work fine.
YES! if your not trained and unsure NEVER do your own hair.
I did mine once and it was so fucked up I had to keep my hair in a bobble for about a week and put loads of gel, hairspray and moose in it just to make it look a tin bit darker, luckily though I got a proffesional hairdresser to sort it out.
I personally wouldn't recommend it...first off, store bought products are HORRIBLE for your hair, second...one time, my friend attempted to do hers, and ended up looking like Cruella Devill. I'm not joking. It's worth the money to have someone professionally do it.
well it depends on if you are good or not i would try it except i would use highlights that are washable for the first time just to see if you are good at it or not
I do my own Highlights all the time... no worries!!! Not to mention that way you can do as many or as little as you like
do it ur self just follow the instuctions
