Can you use dye from a box to highlight hair?

i have really long hair and i tried using the cap but it took forever!! can you use dye from a box with foil or wax paper?Can you use dye from a box to highlight hair?

i suggest you go to a salon and get it done. thing is if you use a box from walmart it probably wont process right and you dont have toners and stuff. It would probably turn your hair orange and you would be freaking out.
Yes, you can...I do! You will need a helper if you want to do your whole head. If you just do the front area, you can do it yourself. Read the amount of ounces in each bottle that comes in the package and using a measure spoon, measure out the appropriate amount and put into a small glass (the way I do it)...OR you can just mix the whole thing. Comb your hair the normal way you wear it. Then use an art or small regular paintbrush to ';paint'; hi-lites where you want them! Be cfonservative at first, you can always go back and touch up. I use Colorsilk brand, it's about $3.00...good luck !
