How do you highlight your hair at home?

I bought this hair dye which i can use for highlighting my hair and it is called ';Loreal Preference'; and the colour is golden blonde. How do i highlight my hair with this, and i know some of you may say to read the instructions but it only shows the instructions for dying all of the hair BLONDE! I just want blonde highlights! and also my hair is blackish-brownish.. and also where do you buy a cap?How do you highlight your hair at home?
I wouldnt use a cap, just use foil. Take a little section of hair that you want to highlight and put the dye on it then wrap it up in the foil and leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Just make sure you dont get too big of a section of hair because the dye will spread and your whole head will look blond.How do you highlight your hair at home?
