Can you use limes to highlight your hair?

Okay, I know you can use lemons to highlight your hair. You just mix it with water and you spray it in your hair.


You can see from the picture that I am a brunette, so my other question is can you get highlights from lemons or limes for brunettes. And the other question is, can you use limes? (like I said.)

for a brunette, if you use lemons to highlight - or limes because they will work too - it wont turn blonde, but it will turn orange.
i would suggest against that. if you have dark brunette hair. it will turn your hair orange. but if its a light brown than it would be ok. you have to go out in the sun for a while so maybe go to the beach for the day a couple times a week and that should do the trick. and you will get tan (: but my mom said it would be fine with limes. good luck.

No, and lemons only work if your hair is light blonde to begin with. Lemon juice is a straight acid so it is worse for your hair than bleach, and will turn it orange as it lifts. But the acid is a lot more intense in a lemon than in a lime, orange, or any other fruit containing citric acid.
