What is the best over the counter hair color to lighten and highlight dark hair?

I just need to touch up my roots and I dont want to spend 100 bucks for it.!What is the best over the counter hair color to lighten and highlight dark hair?
I FIRST USED 117 NATURAL MEDIUM GOLDEN BROWN BY NICE EASY. THEN I USED LIGHT REDDISH BLONDE BY LOREAL PREFERENCE. TOUCH UP ROOTS BY NICE'N EASY IS GOOD. TOUCH UP THE DARK COLOR AND DRAG WAND TREW THE LIGHTER SHADE.What is the best over the counter hair color to lighten and highlight dark hair?
I personally am a huge fan of Revlon color.
Loreal Paris is cheap but does a great job for touch ups or highlights.. you couldn't even tell the difference between this and a salon.
i would say revloun for touch ups...it is specifiilly made for touch up in btween i think its revloun or loreal but they are both really good
NONE! You have no idea what you are getting with box color, especially for lightening hair. Not only will it fry your hair but it will also be really brassy. Touching up your roots isn't as easy as it seems. I'm a hairstylist and I am constantly fixing people's hair who use a box blonde, it won't be pretty.
listen up listen up!!!

TRUST ME!!!

try hydrogen peroxide.

mix it with some conditioner and comb it onto ur roots or whereever u wanna lighten up. let it dry and then wash it out.

ever wonder why they have the old term ';peroxide blonde';?

tah dah!

and it will look really nice!!!=D

trust me!!

i went platinum blonde once, dirty blonde once, reg. blonde once...and i'm a natural brunette!!!=D

plus...a bottle of hydrogen peroxide only cost around two bucks!!!

good luck!!!

take care!!!

xao=D
idk if you have a sallys beauty supply store... it's a store that sells salon products to people without a cosmetology license... well if there are any by a different name or whatever.,.. buy an on the scalp bleach and some peroxide. well it depends on the kinda bleach you use (liquid, powder, etc.) but they have what the salons have and its wayyyy cheaper. itll cost you bout 20 bucks for the same product. good luck.

ohh and dont use peroxide. its wayyyy more damaging too the hair and the chances of you matching your hair shaft to the new root color youll be dying is very slim to none. you can if you want to but im just giving you some helpful tips. i hope i helped.
well dark hair is hard to get rid of espeically if u wanna go lighter....u actually have to go to a salon doing it yourself is a bad idea....i did and i regret it....
