How can you use a highlighter to highlight your hair?

yes, i mean a real highlighter. i know it is possible because people in my school do it all the time....like with pink highlighters and blue highlighters and yellow ones too...i thought it was cool. and i just am curious how to do it. my hair is black. will it work on mine?How can you use a highlighter to highlight your hair?
Nope. My hair was platinum blonde when I was in high school... It has tuned a darker blonde as I get older, but I used to use highlighters to color my hair. You just take a section of hair, lay your head on a desk with paper under it and color the section in. Simple. Washes out in one wash, too.





Because your hair is black, you may want to go buy those colored extensions that have really small clips. Cut them to the length of your real hair and just pin them in. It's easy and it's a fun way to try out a new look!How can you use a highlighter to highlight your hair?

buy a highlighting kit (streaking kit) from your local drugstore


lighten the areas that you want

color with the highlighter neon marker

Yes. Take a finger wide piece of your hair and set it on a flat table or other surface. Higlighter in one hand, press it down on your hair, starting close to the roots as you can get and going all the way down to the ends.
it won't work on your black hair
