How long do you have to wait to highlight your hair after you dye it?

My hair is dark brown and I'm dying it black, and I want to highlight it also red and blonde on the bangs. How longs do I have to wait to do the highlights after I dye it? Please help, thanks(:How long do you have to wait to highlight your hair after you dye it?

DON'T DYE IT BLACK! Huge mistake dye it dark brown...do not make the mistake of doing black. It is so hard to dye over black it's ridiculous, something with the dye they use to make black. Get a brown as close a you can to black. But you can highlight your hair the same day. Don't do it the day after though, if you can't do it the same day wait a couple of weeks.
If you use foil, you can do it all in one step. Put your highlights in and then do the remaining hair your dye color.








I was a salon sweeper and they did this all the time.
You can do it right after you wash the color out. Do a deep conditioner trmt. Follow with the highlights
