I know I need color and developer, but I do not know what brand (I want the best kind for best results) and I do not know what developer is but i know I need it. I am wanting to go from a ';dirty/golden blond'; to a more lighter (about 3 shades or so)..almost bleached but not white. I want to go to Sally's beauty supply to get the professional products. I'm planning on using foil too.I want to highlight my hair using professional product. How do I know what kind of product/developer to buy.?
I am a stylist and own my own salon and the most important thing I can tell you is to put the product on roots only then at the end take out all the foils and pull rest of product through the ends. If you don't do this your ends will be come over processed and break off. I only use bleach 20 volume developer because using a blonde will only bring you up 2 levels and will still leave your roots a tad brassy, Do the top and sides 1st, then do crown and back part ,roots only with a 30 or 40 developer , you will need help with this its completely impossible to foil your head alone. Good luck and remeber roots only at firstI want to highlight my hair using professional product. How do I know what kind of product/developer to buy.?
Developer is the white conditioner looking stuff (base for hair dye) I wouldnt go 2 Sallys those retards get paid $8/hr %26amp; have no idea what theyre talking about. Anything Loreal is good, never Revlon %26amp; never any color with the word ';ash'; or ';golden'; that translates to grey %26amp; orange. The best hair dye 2 lighten hair is Loreal super blonde you can buy it at Walmart it will most likely be on the very top shelf. Good luck
The color/shade you select will tell you which developer to use on the package, for virgin hair usually 30, maybe higher if you choose a lighter blond. Darker colors will usually ask for 20dev To achieve brighter blonds, you'll need to invest in a booster powder to mix with the developer, then add the color, mix, and apply.
I don't recommend any home highlights because they usually turn your hair copper or gold... trust it from someone who's tried. Or, even worse, a yellowy color.
