How do I highlight my hair completely but leave the underneath out?

I've been going to somebody to get foils down for a while now, but i'm out of town and want highlights now. i bought the box, and it's one of the pull through caps, so i'm not sure how to leave the underneath of my hair out like she usually does with foils, is there any way to do this?How do I highlight my hair completely but leave the underneath out?
read the directions and make sure you get the piece of the hair and bring it above your head and seperate it from the rest of your hair.. I did this a few times!How do I highlight my hair completely but leave the underneath out?
