How can i highlight my hair without damaging it?


If i only highlight the tips of my hair or not close to the hair roots, is it still possible to damage my hair? How can i highlight my hair without damaging it?
well your best going to a hairdresser because i never went to them and i just dyed my hair myself and permanently straightend it myself i finaly went to the hair dressers and she was soo shocked bcz my hair was in such bad conditionl. when my was brushin my hair i noticed it was all fallin off and i wsnt sure if it was suppost to or not and she sed bcz of all the stuf iv done to it my hair was snapping off and luckily they can fix it. so your best just going 2 a profesional that will highlight your hair and do it right so it wont damage your hair How can i highlight my hair without damaging it?
take a piece of card board and put a hole in it. then put little bits o your hair in it and spray/ dye. then you wont damage your scalp
