you are supposed to wait at least 2 weeks after relaxing your hair to use any type of dyes on it to avoid chemical overload.
if you dont, it may cause your hair to become dry and brittle, damaging it and even making it break off and/or fall out.
i dyed my hair before and then got highlights a month later and it was STILL dry afterwards. you just have to make extra sure that you keep your hair moisturized after using all those chemicals.
bleach is especially damaging. i know because i tried to get light brown highlights on my naturally jet black hair and it really dried it out and made it frizzy and brittle. i hated it and had her dye it back black 2 months later and now its back to normal.
when i tried for highlights w/o bleach, the color didnt show up cuz my hair is so dark. so you might need to use bleach to make them show up also.
you can still get it highlighted, just be careful. make sure you use really good conditioner formulated for color and chemical treated hair, and use some moisturizing products like lusters pink oil moisturizer and olive and coconut oil to keep it healthy and shiny.

when i highlite my cleints that have relaxed hair yes they have to wait a couple of weeks before highliting but you can do it ...i only use 10 volume with the bleach it is the lowest developer and the safest to use on relaxed hair in some cases i use 20 volume depends on how strong the hair is....but your hair will lighten with the 10 vol. because your hair cuticle is already opened from the relaxer..just make sure you tell the stylist that you relaxed your hair, it is very important to mention that....i hope i helped..good luck
