I just want to put slight highlights in my hair (its blonde) and I was wondering if you can use bleach....How can I use bleach to highlight my hair without it looking fake?
Don't do it - go get a highlighting kit or go to the salon. If you throw bleach on your hair you're going to look like a bad laundry accident at best.
Kits are cheap (probably about twice as much as the bleach - which isn't much) Go that route - bleaching your hair isn't something that has an easy 'fix'How can I use bleach to highlight my hair without it looking fake?
I suggest you have it done professionally. I had to go back to the salon, switching hairdressers, about 4 times before I was satisfied with the blonde highlights. Going to the salon is a good idea because hairdressers know how much bleach to put apply at a time and how long before it fries your hair (this makes it look fake). I think frosting technique will always make your hair look more natural. Use Kerastase leave-on conditioning treatment every week...if you're hair is healthy and shiny all dye colors look natural.
I am a blond also, I weave my hair lightly with bleach. I assume you are talking about hair bleach. If you have hair longer than shoulder length.
If you have short hair use frosting cap, it is cheap an you can do it at home.
Also, don't jump straight to bleach as a natural blond you can also pick up a hair dye kit at the store. If you use a level 10 or what ever the highest level is, blond hair is easy to lift. Try to avoid any hair where you part your hair because it tends to be more brittle due to sun damage. also by avoiding that part you will not have noticeable roots.
