Can you highlight your hair with bleach by varying the time it is on your hair?

Regular bleach solution for hair. On the bottle, it says leave on until desired color is reached up to 50 minutes. Does this mean you can highlight your hair by leaving it on for less time? Anybody ever tried this? Can you highlight your hair with bleach by varying the time it is on your hair?
never tried it but if you want highlights try putting lemon juice in your hair in streaks and go out in the sun (if you have a lighter colored hairCan you highlight your hair with bleach by varying the time it is on your hair?
Yeah..it means just that, Leave it on your hair for the color blond you want..BUT You can't lift your hair past yellow blond without overprocessing your hair.
You can, make sure you do a test strip at the base of your neck to find the color you want. But I would say just go get a highlighting kit from CVS if you are doing it yourself. Bleach is a little tricky.
The length of time that the bleach is left on the hair will determine the shade or level of lift that you will get. If your hair is very dark and you leave the bleach on say... 20 minutes, it will most likely be orange.

Bleach is used for highlights. You can apply it to sections of your hair and leave it on (allow it to process) until your desired level of lift or blond is achieved.

So yes... you can highlight your hair with bleach.
