What's the least damaging way to highlight hair??

Alright, well I'm a natural blonde but my hair is kind of medium sandy blonde and I want to highlight it so it's lighter. I've tried things like sun in and just using regular hair dye but they always turn my blonde hair orangey! I hate damaging my hair but the only way it will lighten blonde and not red is by using highlighting kits or frosting kits (frosting hair not cake for those who don't know). What is the least damaging type of kit of these (brand) or is there something I could do before or after to minimize the damage??? Thank you!What's the least damaging way to highlight hair??

Blonde hair will highlight in the sun, so get some sun in, spray it in, slap on some sunscreen, and go outside for a while. It would help to be doing something, and to not have your hair wet or pulled back in a ponytail. That's the least damaging way.
