My skin is olive not golden, and I have a light/medium skintone. My hair and eyes are dark brown. Since this is a very common complexion, someone should know what kind of highlights I should choose. Also my hair is so dark I don't exactly know what the undertone is. Based on my complexion, is my hair probably warm or cool? What are the best hair highlight shades for an olive skintone?
Olive toned complexions can do a warm or neutral color choice. If you have dark hair you could do some chestnut brown high lights, or even a slightly lighter shade than your natural color, some dark auburn would be ok.
Dark hair looks completely fake with blonde streaks, not to mention the blonde will clash with the olive in your skin.
Best go to a reputable salon and talk to the colorist there. She'll have a color wheel that you can look over to make the right decision. What are the best hair highlight shades for an olive skintone?
caramel looks amazing
Carmel or blonde or Violet highlights are really cool, Red is too(but it fades fast).
I have olive skin and dark hair and dark eyes too, and I used those highlights, they looked really cool.
caramel or another lighter brown
your undertone will probably be on the warm side. most brunettes are anyways. unless your hair is black and shines blue in the sun, then you are warm. also i would not recommend a drastic change in the highlight color. i am the same complexion and i really don't like highlights on me. when i do have them, i only go no more than 3 shades lighter than my natural color. i hate that dark hair with blonde highlights look. try the cafe au lait toner by shades eq. any hair cuttery or side shop will cary it. its my fave color for highlights. try it, i know you will love it, and if not, you can always go darker. hope this helps
